5pm Hatha Yoga (in the Himilayan Institute tradition) with
Marisa
6pm Ananda Yoga with Sarah

Sunday, October 26th, 1:30-4:30pm
PATANJALI'S RAJA YOGA with Tyagan
(or "I've read Don't Sweat the Small Stuff-Now What?")
In the Yoga Sutras, the ancient sage Patanjali taught that
yoga means complete mastery over the mind. Yoga postures,
or asanas, are but one of the eight limbs (ashtanga) that
Patanjali prescribed to attain this goal. Patanjali's
timeless wisdom can show us how to take yoga off the mat,
in order to attune to our true selves, relieve stress and
tension, and be more open and giving to others. Although
the essence of life is change, the inner essence of each of
us is limitless joy and profound peace, which, once
realized, may be shared with all humanity. In addition to
lively discussion, we will use a flowing (vinyasa) physical
yoga practice as a supportive, yet challenging, springboard
to further explore all eight limbs of yoga. These include
ethical precepts (such as truthfulness and nonviolence,
both toward others and ourselves), pranayama,
concentration, and meditation. In particular, we will
explore the heart-mind connection, and what it means to
practice nonattachment -- but by no means indifference --
in the "real" world.
$40 if you register by today!; $55 after
